Quarantine Well-Being


Hi! Just checking in... How's everyone holding up? Is your mental health okay or are all of our brains starting to resemble this doodle file with every layer on?


In the little thumbnail I see an elephant through the chaos. 🐘 What do you see?!


I wish us Iowans could see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it seems so far. It's all crazy. So much to do, so little time, but more time at the same time..ya know? Let's all just take a deep breath in...1, 2, 3, 4...and out...1, 2, 3, 4...


Whew! Now let's go get some dessert. We've earned it!


If you're in need of help getting out of this rut we all seem to be in I was sent a "well-being checklist" that I found super helpful.


Hygiene and health:

  • Shower OR wash your face!

  • Take your medicine/vitamins

  • Drink that H2O! -very important, always!


Daily activity options:

  • Clean one thing/space

  • Tend to something living/growing -plant, pet, DIY crystals, etc.

  • Do one thing to get your heart rate up- EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!

  • DIY project


Be mindfully present to:

  • A sound/song

  • A sensory feeling

  • Something you see

  • Spiritual practice


Daily/Weekly goals:

  • Reach out to a human outside of your home

  • Do something you'll be glad you did later

  • Do something because you want to!

  • Get in at least one good laugh per day


Stay safe and if it's feeling like too much reach out to someone! There's too many of us feeling the same to feel alone in this. Virtual hugs for everyone!
